Flu shot supply robust and available at upcoming clinics
The annual flu vaccination program for UMass Medical School faculty and staff will begin on Oct. 27. Unlike past years, no shortage of vaccine is expected. In fact, the Medical School already has a robust supply of vaccine on site. This year's flu vaccine protects against both seasonal flu and H1N1 flu.
Clinics have been scheduled specifically for UMMS faculty and staff, distinct from those for UMass Memorial Health Care personnel. All main campus flu shot clinics will be held in a new location: the former first floor cancer clinic (H1-322). Students are being vaccinated separately.
New this year is a “Fast Lane,” which will shorten the time it takes to get the vaccination done. Participants should download and print the Flu Fact Sheet, review the information, download and print the Flu Vaccination Form and bring all forms to the clinic. Wear clothing that allows easy and quick access to the upper arm (e.g., sleeveless shirt, loose short-sleeve shirt).
