Program Highlights

UMass Memorial is a cornerstone for medical care throughout central and western New England, a level I trauma center with 781 beds and more than 140,000 annual ED visits, the home of the LifeFlight emergency helicopter service and the hub for an established telestroke program that brings neurovascular expertise into community hospitals.  There are more than 800 patients admitted to the UMass Stroke Service annually.  The dedicated NeuroICU located at the University Campus Lakeside Pavilion has 16 beds and a burn unit.  The 24-bed Neurology Floor features a 4-bed step-down unit.  UMass Memorial is a certified Primary Stroke Center and has repeatedly been recognized with the highest honor for stroke care by the American Heart Association.
