Description |
Neurocritical care unit rotation |
Fellows will spend 7 blocks during year 1 and 6 blocks during year 2 in the neurocritical care unit. During this time fellows will work closely with the midlevel providers and residents and will be given increasing autonomy to perform the duties of an attending. |
Procedure and airway rotation |
At the start of the fellowship, fellows will be assigned to a procedure and airway rotation. During this block the fellow will take part in simulations for the major procedures and airway skills as well as work closely with anesthesia and critical care departments to obtain exposure and garner expertise in the various procedures. |
Telemedicine rotation |
Fellows will get exposure to the world of telemedicine through this rotation. 1 block in each year will be dedicated to working in the electronic ICU as well as telestroke. |
Stroke rotation |
Critical care fellows will work on the stroke service and gain further experience during stroke emergencies. |
Research |
Fellows will have dedicated research time during both years. |
Selective rotations |
Include medical, surgical and cardiac ICU. |
Elective Rotations |
EEG, interventional radiology, neurosurgery, transcranial doppler, infectious disease, palliative care. Any other interests can be accommodated as well. |
