Kelsey Goostrey, BA, Clinical Research Assistant

Kelsey Goostrey, our Clinical Research Assistant, joined our Neuro-critical care team in August 2018 after completing her ‘Bachelor of Arts in Psychology’ from the College of the Holy Cross. As an undergrad, Kelsey was a member of the NCAA Division 1 Women’s Ice Hockey team at Holy Cross. She also had leadership roles in the Student Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC) and Working for Worcester, a student run non-profit. Kelsey developed her passion for clinical research after working as a Student Research Assistant in the Department of Emergency Medicine at UMass. She is excited to be a member of the Neurocritical Care Research lab at UMass and improve goals-of-care discussions for neurocritically ill patients. 

Kelsey is responsible for screening and enrolling patients, data entry, patient follow-up, and ensuring all studies are in accordance with IRB protocols (institutional review board).

Fun Facts:

  • Was named an All-American Scholar by the American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA)
  • Goal for 2020 is to run a half-marathon
