New NIH grant aims to improve radiation therapy response in breast cancer patients

Art Mercurio, PhD, has received NIH funding from the National Cancer Institute (NCI) to study mechanisms and therapy of radiation resistance in breast cancer. The goal of the research is to develop a new therapeutic approach for overcoming resistance to radiation therapy in triple negative breast cancer, an aggressive form of breast cancer.
