UMass Medical School has a distributed model of managing websites on our Internet ( and our Intranet (  This means that each department, center, and program maintains their own webpages.  There may be one or more Content Editors for any website.  It is the Content Editor's responsibility to keep the web pages updated by working with the Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in their group.  Learn more about Episerver...

Self-Directed Tutorials

Access Requirements:  Department Approval and Training

To request access to edit a UMMS website, please fill out this Authorization Form.  A two-hour Basics Training session is required for all editors new to the Episerver Content Management System.

We also offer targeted trainings in using Calendars, Blocks, Hero Sliders (Slideshows) and Navigation.

Browser Compatibility and Accessing Episerver from Off Campus

We recommend using Chrome when editing your web pages. The latest versions of Firefox and Safari are all compatible.  If using Internet Explorer, please use Version 10.  Version 11 of Internet Explorer currently is not compatible with Episerver.  If you are working off site, you will need to VPN into the UMMS network and the log into EpiServer.
