GSBS Student Affairs

GSBS Student Affairs is here to serve you in expanding the personal and professional skills that will allow you to pursue meaningful leadership in your communities, and the world.

We support and advocate for you throughout your experience at UMassMedical School, in close collaboration with our colleagues, in tri-school Student Life/Affairs and across the entire UMMS ecosystem.

We use the four guiding principles of the Worcester Together Coaltion anti-racism statement as an organizing and action framework for all we do -- from one-on-one advising to programing and policy. We expect to be held accountable by our students and community to demostrate concrete actions and results based on our use of these foundational priniciples in our work.

Assistant Dean of Student Affairs and Enrollment, Dr. Morgan Thompson, has four primary action areas:

  1. Individual and student group advising
  2. Serving as an advocate for students within the UMMS ecosystem
  3. Supporting individual and institutional training grants and fellowships
  4. Co-creating a campus environment that supports personal and professional well-being
