Meet Our Residents




Elizabeth Bobersky, MD
is a 2018 graduate of Albany Medical College and a 2013 graduate of Northeastern University where she earned a BS in Pharmaceutical Science. Elizabeth’s academic interests include home care, geriatrics and women’s health. She is familiar with Barre, having completed a visiting rotation there during the academic year. Elizabeth also enjoys yoga and meditation.


Stefanie Russell, MD
, is a 2018 graduate of St. Georges University and a 2012 graduate of SUNY Plattsburgh, where she studied Behavioral Neuroscience. Stefanie’s academic interests include global health, lifestyle medicine and rural medicine. Outside of academics, Stefanie enjoys hiking and baking. 


Beshoy Sidhom, MD,
is a 2017 graduate of the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania and earned his BS in Molecular and Cellular Biology and Chemistry from Johns Hopkins University in 2012. Originally from Egypt, Beshoy is a certified Arabic medical interpreter and is very interested in global health. He enjoys travel, cooking and spending time outdoors.


Suhas Sreeharshan, DO
is a 2018 graduate of New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine and earned a prior medical degree in 2013 from American University of the Caribbean. He also received his BS in Biochemistry from Stony Brook University in 2009. Suhas is greatly interested in a residency that will allow him to pursue his interest in osteopathic medicine. His outside interests include hiking and swimming.




Anne Gifford, MD is a 2017 graduate of St. Georges University and completed both her BA in Political Science (2007) and her MPH (2009) from Case Western Reserve University. Anne grew up in Wellesley, MA and has academic interests in both maternal child health and geriatrics. Anne also enjoys kayaking, fishing and knitting. 


Jad Jalal, MD is a 2017 graduate of Ross University and a 2013 graduate of University of Ottawa where he studied Biological Sciences. A Canadian native, Jad is fluent in both French and Arabic. Nutrition and community health are among his academic interests. Jad’s personal interests include weight-lifting and soccer.


Michael Maddaleni, MD is a 2017 graduate of UMass Medical School and a 2011 graduate of Boston College where he studied Chemistry. Michael worked as a research assistant prior to medical school and would like to pursue a sports medicine fellowship after residency. His interests outside of medicine include baseball and volleyball.


Julia Vu, DO is a 2017 graduate of West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine who earned her BA in Studio Art and Asian Studies from Union College in 2010. Julia is a native of Vietnam who grew up in Massachusetts. Her academic interests include global health and community health. Julia also enjoys hiking, whitewater rafting and playing badminton.




Nicholas Hajj, MD, Chief Resident, is a 2016 graduate of UMass Medical School and graduated in 2012 from UMass-Lowell with a BS in Biology. At UMMS, Nick has been a co-leader of the FMIG group. His academic interests include osteopathic medicine. Nick’s personal interests are gardening, karate and hiking.      


Michael Murphy, MD is a 2016 graduate of UMass Medical School and earned his BS in Biology from UMass-Boston in 2009. Prior to medical school, Michael worked as an EMT. His academic interests include sports and wilderness medicine and procedural training. Michael’s personal interests include baseball and physical fitness.


Harshal Patel, DO is a 2016 graduate of New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine and graduated  in 2010 from SUNY-Albany with a BS in Biology and Psychology. Harshal is a member of the Executive Board for his school’s chapter of the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians. He also enjoys cooking and skiing. 


Alexandra Roberts, MD is a 2016 graduate of St. Georges University and earned her BS in Anatomy and Cell Biology from McGill University in 2009. A native Canadian, Alexandra’s academic interests include global health, rural medicine and women’s health. She also enjoys snowboarding, rugby and camping.
