Why did I choose to train at Hahnemann? I chose to train at UMass because of its dedication to serving the community, the diverse patient population, and the opportunity to care for underserved individuals. I am passionate about community wellbeing and combating health disparities, and UMass has an established network to connect patients with resources to support their needs.HOMETOWN: Newton, MA
Hobbies: Baking, ballet, meditation, spending time with family and friends, traveling
Fun Facts: My alter ego is “Cake Boss,” I make professional-looking cakes!

Why did I choose to train at Hahnemann? Great people, location, and patient population

  Patrick Tolosky, MD

Medical School: Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth College
Undergraduate: Bates College
Hometown: Longmeadow, MA
Family Medicine Interests: Chronic disease management, addiction medicine, population health, preventive medicine, health policy and economics, combating structural violence, outpatient procedures, patient and provider mental well-being, mindfulness, global health (this is the first 10% of my interests.)
Why did I choose to train at Hahnemann? I chose to train at Hahnemann because of the focus on healthcare delivery innovation, the diverse patient population, and the inspiring and dedicated team at this health center. I hope to become proficient in practicing medicine in Spanish while at Hahnemann to build on my previous experiences working with Spanish-speaking communities.

Hobbies: All outdoor activities (trail-running, kayaking, canoeing, camping, skiing, backpacking, sandcastle building, picnics, hammocking, exploring local green spaces, spikeball), reading a great fantasy novel, history, meditation and mindfulness, cooking, eating great food, gardening, oculus enthusiast and practitioner, travel (near and far!), building large bonfires, watching a great movie.

     
 

Alec Tributino, DO

Family Medicine Interests: Sports Medicine, Obstetrics, Full Spectrum FM 
Why did I choose to train at Hahnemann? I had a strong connection with the residents and faculty during our virtual dinner and interview. Definitely the best camaraderie in any program I have seen. Also, UMass has excellent sports medicine training and Spanish language training program. 
Hobbies: Volleyball, tennis, tropical plant care, hanging out with my cat "sushi."
Fun Facts: My first job was as a gymnastics coach for six years.

Why did I choose to train at Hahnemann? After completing an audition rotation at Hahnemann, I knew that the faculty and residents were extremely supportive and invested in the learning of their residents. The variety of patients in clinic representing the different needs throughout the Worcester community was another huge draw for me. I love how all-encompassing the training is at UMass.
Hobbies: Skiing, golfing, cooking, traveling, spending time at the beach.
Fun Facts: I grew up on an island and I’m a soon-to-be cat mom of two.

Why did I choose to train at Hahnemann? I chose UMass and HFHC because of the opportunity to serve a diverse patient population in an academic setting.
Hobbies: Hiking, camping, knitting, playing with my cat and collecting house plants.
Fun Facts: I have a cat named Ginger, but she's not orange in color.

     
 

Craig Pille, MD

Why did I choose to train at Hahnemann? The UMass Family Medicine team. Every person I met on my interview day was incredibly welcoming and friendly. It was clear that all faculty, residents, and administrative staff made it their primary goal to foster a sense of family and community that was unparalleled elsewhere on the interview trail.
Hobbies: Reading, playing basketball, running, golf, and collecting vinyl records. 
Fun Facts: As a kid, I helped build a regulation size little league baseball field in my neighbor's backyard, and I could tell you just about anything you’d want to know about Syracuse University Basketball.

     
  Conner Soderquist, MD

Family Medicine interests:
Full-scope family practice including outpatient procedures and obstetrics, culinary medicine, medical education, and working to improve the learning environment.

Why did I choose to train with Hahnemann? I chose Hahnemann Family Health Center because of the culture of kindness and the opportunity to serve in a diverse, vibrant community. In addition, I was impressed by the emphasis on procedural training, integrated behavioral health, and a commitment to transforming primary care.
Hobbies: Spending time with my family and friends while hiking, trail running, exploring swimming holes, cross-country skiing, and split-boarding. I also enjoy gardening, cooking, and practicing mindfulness.

Fun Facts: I am a new dad! My wife and I are loving every minute of exploring the world through our son's eyes.

Laura Schoerning, DO, Chief Resident

Family Medicine interests: Women's health, Behavioral Health, Academic Medicine
Why did I choose to train at Hahnemann? I chose to train at Hahnemann Family Health Center based on the broad range of patients and procedures residents are exposed to. Hahnemann also has wonderful faculty, nurses, medical assistants, and admin staff who create an excellent learning environment for residents.
Favorite place(s) in the Worcester area: My husband and I live in Grafton and we love going to Silver Lake Beach with our 5 month old daughter. Also, the Flying Rhino and Basil N Spice restaurants on Shrewsbury street are amazing!
Hobbies: Pre-Mom Life: Running, gardening, reading, going to concerts, trying new restaurants, and travel Now: sleeping, Netflix, and hanging out with my 5 month old. 
Fun Facts: I "matched" into residency, got married, and had a baby all within the same week!

Why did I choose to train at Hahnemann? I chose HFHC for the focus on quality improvement and the varied population.
Hobbies: Food (making, eating, watching TV shoes about), painting, learning more about gardening
Fun Facts: Fluent in Spanish; trying and failing to learn Portuguese

Why did I choose to train at Hahnemann?
I chose to train at Hahnemann because of the focus on medical education and on innovation in medical practice and healthcare delivery. I also chose Hahnemann because of the full reproductive options counseling and availability.
Favorite place(s) in the Worcester area: 
All the wonderful restaurants!

Hobbies: Creative writing, watching Korean dramas, cooking
Fun Facts: I love languages and linguistics! I hope to learn to speak at least 4 languages fluently in my lifetime.

     
  Jenna Mullarkey, PsyD, Second Year Fellow  
Primary Care Psychology and Medical Education Fellowship

Dr. Mullarkey joined the Department in July of 2020. This two year position is based at Hahnemann Family Health Center. Dr. Mullarkey  completed her doctoral degree at the Florida Institute of Technology with an emphasis in Integrated Behavioral Health. Her internship year has been spent at the Nebraska Internship Consortium in Professional Psychology - Munroe-Meyer Institute, in Omaha, Nebraska. She has extensive experience in integrated behavioral health, with both pediatric and adult patients. Prior to her doctoral work she received a Masters degree in Applied Developmental and Educational Psychology at Boston College. As a fellow, Dr. Mullarkey is also involved in teaching our residents.
