Application Information

• Fellows must be graduates of ACGME-accredited Family Medicine or Internal Medicine residency programs
• Per request of the UMass Graduate Medical Education Department, we will not accept J-1 visa applicants.
• Applications are due by December 31st. Late applications may be considered if positions remain open.

• Applications comprise:
  - Letter of Interest in the Fellowship
  - Curriculum Vitae
  - Three letters of Reference, including one from the applicant’s residency program director.
  - Copy of USMLE or COMLEX scores

• Acceptance decisions will be made by January 15th to allow time for applicants to apply for Massachusetts licensure, DEA and MA Controlled Substances certification, and credentialing at FHCW and UMass, to be completed before the target start date of July 1st.

• Please note that as of 2014 the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Medicine does not allow foreign medical school graduates to apply for licensure until after residency is completed, which will delay the completion of licensing, etc. and therefore the fellowship start date until mid-September at the earliest.
