Welcome to E*Value @ UMass Medical School
The University of Massachusetts Worcester has implemented E*Value, a web-based data collection and reporting tool designed to provide campus-wide support to our education and training mission. E*Value will further enhance our state-of-the art data collection tools and enhance campus wide educational programming.
Educational leaders, faculty and staff from across our three schools are joining their colleagues to serve on cross-functional teams to pilot and implement E*Value modules. Under the joint oversight of Michele Pugnaire, MD, Senior Associate Dean for Educational Affairs and Greg Wolf, CIO of UMMS Information Technology, we had an excellent project management team working with educational leadership across our three schools and technology experts in Information Technology.
By the end of the 2013, all required courses in the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, Graduate School of Nursing and the School of Medicine will utilize E*Value’s online Evaluation suite of tools to assess and track performance of students and faculty. The Evaluation module will provide immediate benefits for our faculty, students and administrators who will be able to take advantage of self-service reporting tools such as tracking educational effort as well as centrally monitored longitudinal and ad hoc reporting features.
In January 2013, the Scheduling Optimizer module replaced the lottery-based system of clinical year assignments in the School of Medicine. In the future, additional schools may use the optimizer to assign students to labs and other clinical rotations.
During the remainder of AY13/14 the E*Value project will focus on the planning and implementation of the Curriculum Mapping module: this will provide detailed tracking and reporting of the content and methodology of the curriculum in all three schools.
As we continue the full implementation of this important project for our educational mission, you may be asked to participate in one or more components. I want to thank you for your contributions and engagement that will lead to a successful implementation.
