Tim Rice

Senior Director, Office of University Events 

Tim Rice came to the UMass Chan Medical School campus from Boston College in 2013 when he was named Director of the Office of University Events. He  is responsible for planning, organizing, implementing and directing the Chancellor’s campus-wide events, including but not limited to Commencement, Convocation, Investiture, White Coat Ceremony and the Educational Recognition Awards. Tim  works directly with the Chancellor's Office to oversee and coordinate the Academic Events Schedule.

Tim also coordinates University Board of Trustees activities on the Medical School campus, oversees and facilitates other UMass Chan Medical School special events and acts as a consultant to senior administration, department leadership and other personnel for unique events.

Tim Rice is a 2009 graduate of Boston College, earning a B.A. magna cum laude in Corporate Systems. In 2013, he received his Master of Arts in Higher Education from the Boston College Lynch School of Education. 

An active member of the North American Association of Commencement Officers Tim held the position of Regional Director from 2013-2014. He is also a member of Alpha Sigma Nu, the National Jesuit Honor Society. Tim lives in Westborough with his three daughters Olivia, Fiona and Lucy.
