The Small Molecule Screening Facility hires new Manager

Paul Thompson, Director of the Small Molecule Screening Facility (SMSF) at UMass Chan Medical School and Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Pharmacology, is pleased to announce that Dr. Ananta Ghimire will be joining the SMSF on March 1, 2021, as the new Manager of the facility. 

Dr. Ghimire is currently a postdoctoral researcher in the Song lab in the Department of Orthopedics at UMass Chan Medical School and has exceptional experience in assay development. Prior to joining UMassMed, Dr. Ghimire obtained his PhD in Chemistry from the University of Connecticut.  Dr. Ghimire replaces Dr. Sangram Parelkar who helped reboot the SMSF in 2014 and guided its exceptional growth over the last seven years; Dr. Parelkar recently took a position as a Senior Scientist at ValoHealth.  Please join us in welcoming Dr. Ghimire to the Biochemistry and Molecular Pharmacology community.
