 John Pham

John is a trained molecular biologist and received his PhD from Northwestern University, where he studied the mechanisms of RNA splicing and RNA interference with Erik Sontheimer. During that time, he co-authored a number of papers, including two published in Cell (Distinct Roles for Drosophila Dicer-1 and Dicer-2 in the siRNA/miRNA Silencing Pathways, by Lee et al.; and A Dicer-2-Dependent 80S Complex Cleaves Targeted mRNAs during RNAi in Drosophila, by Pham et al.). He went on to do postdoctoral work at Harvard Medical School and Brigham and Women's Hospital. He is currently the Editor-in-Chief at Cell.
