World Kidney Day

WKD 2

850 million people worldwide are now estimated to have kidney diseases from various causes. Chronic kidney disease(CKD) causes at least 2.4 million deaths per year and is now the 6th fastest growing cause of death. As World Kidney Day (WKD) is approaches, the kidney organizations and the nephrology community get busy to make the best out of the each WKD.

Every year renal fellows, staff and faculty conduct a free CKD screening event at UMass for general public.
