Lung Cancer Screening Centralized

Alexander Bankier, MD, PhD, Department of Radiology, UMass Chan Medical School

Cardio-Thoracic Imaging

Effective October 4, 2021, the CT Lung Cancer Screening Program of the UMass Memorial Health system was centralized. The previously three individual programs at University/Memorial, Health Alliance/Clinton, and Marlboro are now run as a single systemwide program. Administration and patient management are based at the University Hospital. Patients, however, will continue to be scheduled for CT examinations at all sites of the system. We expect that centralizing the program will facilitate the implementation of standardized processes and improve proactive patient services and management, as well as proactive services for our referring providers.
