NIH Small Instrument Grant

Mary Rusckowski, PhD, Associate Professor, Radiology, UMass Chan Medical SchoolMary Rusckowski, PhD, Associate Professor Radiology, and Director of RLASTIC (Radiolabeling Small Animal Translational Imaging Core was awarded an NIH Small Instrument Grant.  She served as PI and was joined by 10 other University investigators in this shared grant award.

The grant is for a small animal optical camera the IVIS Spectrum CT (PerkinElmer, Hopkinton MA).  The camera combines a full suite of optical features including spectral un-mixing, 2D and 3D quantitative, tomographic bioluminescence and fluorescence together with fast, low dose CT imaging. Together these tools will provide investigators with the means to perform studies on complex biological systems tagged with optical markers to be followed in small animal models on an easy to use detection platform.
