Application Specifics

The UMass Chan Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery Residency is a five-year ACGME approved training program. 

Required documents include:

  • Completed Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) Application
  • USMLE Transcript (first-time pass is required)
  • MSPE – Medical Student Performance Evaluation
  • Applicants must also have passed USMLE Step II (CS and CK) before starting residency, as it is a requirement for Massachusetts licensure.
  • Medical School Transcript
  • Personal Statement
  • Photograph
  • ECFMG Certificate (if applicable)
  • Citizenship/Visa Status
  • 3 Letters of Recommendation

All required documents must be submitted through ERAS and will not be accepted outside of ERAS.

The institution accepts a standardized personal statement but suggests that applicants consider discussing attributes that will help foster the applicant's competence and resilience.

Interview Dates: Dates will be updated when 2025 ERAS season begins in June 2024.
