Application Process for the Dorothy Wolff Fellowship In Otolaryngology Research

Established in 2018, this fellowship program seeks to support motivated medical students who have an interest in the hearing sciences. The $8,000 one-year grant is intended to support students who wish to take a year out of their clinical studies to pursue basic science and/or clinical studies related to auditory anatomy, physiology and pathology as well as hearing rehabilitation. Research may take place at UMass Chan Medical School, at The Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary or at both institutions. The goal of the fellowship is to cultivate a lifelong interest in research and to build the necessary skill set to succeed in translational sciences related to the field of otolaryngology.

Interested students are asked to provide:

  1. A letter of intent outlining a research project plan
  2. An up-to-date curriculum vitae
  3. One letter of recommendation from a UMass Chan faculty mentor.

The formulation of a research plan should be done in conjunction with UMass Chan Otolaryngology faculty.

Deadline for applications will be updated for the 2025 ERAS season beginning in June.
