Extension of indoor mask mandate (June 28)

UMass Chan Medical School Communications

junio 28, 2022

The requirement for all employees, students and visitors to wear a mask while inside UMass Chan buildings is once again being extended and will remain in effect until at least July 12.

Surgical masks will continue to be available at the lobby entrance of each building. Please remember that cloth masks are not permitted. Individuals may elect to wear KN95 or N95 masks.

As a reminder, while the indoor mask mandate is in effect, masks may be removed only

  • if you are alone in your office with the door closed;
  • if you are alone in a cubicle and at least six feet away from others; or
  • as briefly as possible while eating and physically distanced from others.

If you are not feeling well, please do not come to campus. Consult your health care provider as needed. Our campus guidelines regarding what to do if you have COVID-19 symptoms or test positive for COVID-19 can be found at this link.

When working in clinical settings, clinical faculty, residents, fellows and students should follow the PPE and infection control guidelines specific to that given facility.

We greatly appreciate your ongoing adherence to important health and safety guidelines that have allowed our campus community to conduct vital, mission-based work while maintaining a safe and effective learning and working environment, and we thank you for your continued cooperation.
