The Lamar Soutter Library’s Artist in Residence Series presents “What the Eye Sees and the Heart Feels,” an exhibit of photographs by Andrea Pastick. The exhibit marks the first time Pastick, an administrative assistant for the Department of Developmental & Behavioral Pediatrics at UMass Memorial Medical Center, is sharing her work with the public.

Her photographs feature two themes. One, her close-up images of vibrant woodlands flora capture natural beauty that can be overlooked. “Exploring nature through my love of hiking and snow shoeing opened up a new world to me, and capturing its beauty has become a passion,” said Pastick.

Pastick’s second pictorial theme is portraiture. “I strive to capture the emotions and feelings of my subjects to be shared with viewers,” she said.

“What the Eye Sees and the Heart Feels” is on display in the library from Nov. 1 to Dec. 31.
