In accordance with academic traditions, the Department of Medicine is committed to the educational mission of training tomorrow’s health care providers, researchers, teachers, and leaders.

The Department of Medicine continually revises and refines its curriculum by incorporating new data from research and innovative educational advances. In addition to comprehensive clinical experiences, we provide training through a state-of-the-art simulation lab, one of the nation’s leading standardized patient programs, myriad online learning resources, and exciting research opportunities. Our faculty are skilled, passionate, and learner-centered. Our educational programs prepare learners to succeed in a wide range of disciplines, from groundbreaking clinical care to translational medicine. 

Residencies

The residencies offer robust inpatient as well as ambulatory experiences in a variety of settings. In addition to the standard residency training, we offer specialized pathways including a Research track for trainees interested in pursuing careers as clinician-scientists as well as a Medical Education track for those interested in careers as clinician–educators. The residencies provide ample opportunity for trainee choice in both structured electives as well as self-designed electives
