Jamie Dy, MD - Burncoat House Mentor

Dr. Fei Jamie Dy was born and raised in Singapore before moving to the United States for college. Jamie completed her undergraduate studies, a master's in Molecular and Cellular Biology, and finally her medical degree at The Johns Hopkins University in Maryland. She then undertook residency at Mass General Hospital for Children, followed by fellowship training in Pediatric Pulmonary Medicine at Boston Children’s Hospital. Jamie spent 3 years as a faculty member at the University of California San Francisco, where she worked at children’s hospitals in Oakland and San Francisco.

Jamie moved back to Massachusetts in 2019 to join UMass Memorial Children’s Medical Center. She is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics. Jamie is co-director of the Duchenne Program at UMass, and is actively involved in clinical trials for Duchenne muscular dystrophy patients. She also oversees the Center for Healthy Infant Lung Development - where infants who are born prematurely receive multidisciplinary care. She has experience in developing collaborative clinics for aerodigestive medicine and technology-dependent children. Besides patient care, Jamie is dedicated to teaching and mentoring learners of all levels. She was a small group facilitator for the Organ System Disease course and received an outstanding medical educator award from UMass Chan Medical School. She also serves on the education committee for the American Thoracic Society.

Jamie lives with her husband and son in Shrewsbury. Like any Singaporean, she loves eating, traveling, and connecting with friends across the world. She has yet to fathom American sports and the appeal of salad. She enjoys mystery novels, pronounces her T’s, and drinks too much coffee.
