Health Equity Diversity and Inclusion Council - HEDIC

Membership:                          

Members are selected by the co-chairs and endorsed by the executive sponsors.  It includes a broad cross section of managers and employees from the Medical Center and the Medical Group.  Currently, there are 33 members on the Council.

Purpose:                                 
  • To support and sustain a high performing inclusive work environment by integrating diversity goals with the values and mission of the Hospital.
  • To identify strategic diversity issues utilizing Lean methodologies and recommend actions to address those issues
  • To serve as ambassadors and champions of the diversity vision and mission*
  • To sponsor and/or organize diversity educational programs
  • To provide ongoing feedback to the Diversity and Inclusion Office and to the Medical Center and Medical Group’s leadership teams.
FY17 Goal:

To increase the collection and use of race, ethnicity, language preference and other relevant socio-demographic data to enhance patient care and quality improvement efforts.
