Health Equity Diversity and Inclusion Council - HEDIC

Membership:

Members are selected by the co-chairs and endorsed by the executive sponsors. It includes a broad cross section of managers and employees from the Medical Center and the Medical Group. Currently, there are 33 members on the Council.

Purpose:

To support and sustain a high performing inclusive work environment by integrating diversity goals with the values and mission of the Hospital.
To identify strategic diversity issues utilizing Lean methodologies and recommend actions to address those issues
To serve as ambassadors and champions of the diversity vision and mission*
To sponsor and/or organize diversity educational programs
To provide ongoing feedback to the Diversity and Inclusion Office and to the Medical Center and Medical Group’s leadership teams.

FY17 Goal:

To increase the collection and use of race, ethnicity, language preference and other relevant socio-demographic data to enhance patient care and quality improvement efforts.
