Jeanna Lee, PhD, (she, her, hers) is the assistant director for equity, inclusion and campus climate in the Diversity and Inclusion Office. Dr. Lee is the Title IX coordinator. She focuses on the development, implementation and administration of policy and programming aimed at improving equity and inclusion throughout UMass Chan.
Lee earned her doctoral degree in clinical psychology from Palo Alto University in California. Her research and clinical work focused on working with underserved, marginalized and traumatized youth and their families. She came to Massachusetts for the post-doctoral fellowship in integrated primary care behavioral health at UMass Chan in 2012. Since then, she has worked as an integrated clinical psychologist at Benedict Internal Medicine before returning to Hahnemann Family Health Center, the site of her fellowship, for the past five years. She also served as part of the behavioral health faculty in the Worcester Family Medicine Residency and was active on the Structural Oppression and Anti-Racism Committee and the Diversity in Recruitment Task Force. She briefly worked with the Psychology Internship Program sponsored by UMass Chan in partnership with the Worcester Recovery Center and Hospital. As the director of curriculum on this training committee, she focused on improving the cultural sensitivity training for interns and supervisors by elevating the curriculum above APA standards, implementing supervisor training and encouraging mentorship for interns.
Lee has undergraduate degrees in philosophy and psychology from the University of St. Catherine. She was a Peace Corps volunteer in Bénin, West Africa, as a middle and high school teacher. She is a member of the Cheyenne River Sioux tribe in South Dakota.
