COVID-19 Lab Policies

SARS-Cov-2The virus that causes COVID-19 is thought to spread mainly from person to person through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs, sneezes, or talks. These droplets can land in the mouths or noses of people who are nearby or possibly be inhaled into the lungs. Spread is more likely when people are in close contact with one another (within about 6 feet).  Therefore, Social Distancing is required at all times.
Wearing a mask is required, however, wearing a mask is not an alternative to social distancing.

  1. Please wash your hands before you use the instruments.
  2. Only one user on a microscope at a time, no shared imaging sessions are permitted.
  3. Users must reserve time online through our website calendar.
  4. All surfaces should be wiped down with 70% Ethanol after instrument use.
Do not spray the disinfectant directly on the instrument or the computer keyboards- use the wipes that are provided.
