Thompson Lab's Heather Loring wins travel award

Date Posted: jueves, febrero 28, 2019

Heather LoringHeather Loring, PhD student in the Thompson Lab and co-mentored by Dr. Celia Schiffer, has been selected by the Awards and Recognition Committee of the GSBS as the recipient of the 2019 Diane M Riccio GSBS Travel Award. This award recognizes outstanding accomplishment by a GSBS PhD candidate and provides funds for travel to a national or international research conference.

Heather plans to use The Riccio Award to go toward the FASEB NAD Metabolism and Disease Conference in Dublin, Ireland this June. "Attending this conference will help advance my studies by providing me with an opportunity to attend and present our work at a venue that attracts the world's experts in NAD biology. Two years ago, SARM1 garnered a lot of attention at the meeting due to recent discoveries and since this is the focus of my work, I look forward to hearing about the progress in the field since then."

Congratulations Heather!
