MENTAL HEALTH
The Mental Health group led by Dr. Kate Lapane conducts studies of mental health issues across the lifespan. The group is currently examining suicide risk among younger and older nursing home residents and the mental health services received by those with serious mental illness, including working-age nursing home residents and transition age youth. The group also explores the link between depression, cognitive impairment, and physical frailty and the link between depression and pain among nursing home residents. The group is also interested in the intersection between mental and physical health.
