Vets 100 2009 Report
As a federal contractor, the University of Massachusetts Medical School is required to file a VETS-100 Report on an annual basis. For purposes of VETS 100 reporting, covered veterans include the following:
Special Disabled Veterans
A person entitled to disability compensation under laws administered by the Veterans Administration for
- A disability rated at 30 percent or more
- A serious employment handicap,
- A discharge or release from active duty for a disability incurred or aggravated in the line of duty
Veteran of the Vietnam Era
A person who served on active duty for a period of more than 180 days, any part of which occurred between August 5, 1964, and May 7, 1975 and was discharged or released with other than a dishonorable discharge.
A person who was discharged or released from active duty for a service-connected disability if any part of such active duty was performed between August 5, 1964, and May 7, 1975.
Newly Separated Veteran Defined as any veteran who served on active duty in the U.S. military during the one-year period beginning on the date of such veteran's discharge or release from active duty.
