Managing Your Diabetes

Blood Glucose Control:

How you monitor and control your blood glucose levels vary for each indivdual.  Knowing your numbers and your target ranges is extremely important in order to stay healthy and reduce the risk of diabetes complications.

Healthy Eating & Nutrition:

Eating well is one of the primary things you can do to help control diabetes. Proper nutrition will also provide more energy and help you feel better in general.

Weight Management:

When you have diabetes, being overweight or obese increases your risk for complications.  Your Diabetes Center of Excellence team, consisting of your physician, dietitians and nutritionists, will assess your situation and create an appropriate health management plan.

Exercise & Physical Activity:

Excercise is a very important part of taking care of your diabetes. Physical activity can help your body's insulin work better, increase your metabolism, help you lose or maintain weight, provide energy, decrease stress and offers a number of other health benefits.
