Practice Integration Profile (PIP)

On this page, you will find information about the Practice Integration Profile (PIP). The PIP is both a research tool and a practice improvement tool. It is freely available for anyone to use without cost.

The development of the PIP began in 2014. It was designed to be a self-assessment survey operationalizing the ideas in Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality’s Lexicon of Collaborative Care (2013). Any member of a primary care team can complete the PIP survey to assess the degree of integration of behavioral health and primary care services in their practice.

In 2020 the PIP Development Team completed a revision to update and improve the tool.  You may complete version 2.0 of the PIP by clicking Here. Or download this printable version Here.

The PIP is free for anyone to use and our team happy to consult with stakeholders and researchers who are interested in collaborating. To contact the PIP2 team with questions please email us at PIP@umassmed.edu.
