We define health in the same broad context as the World Health Organization: “a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease.”  As one of the cornerstones of our mission, we serve the community by filling the gaps in care and helping to provide a healthy environment for all our citizens. Our Community Benefits Program supports community health initiatives that address unmet health needs in a proactive manner through partnerships with many local human service organizations, including:

  • Medical interpreter services and cultural competency
  • mobile medical and dental services
  • healthy communities, literacy, youth development and violence prevention
  • children's wellness and protection
  • senior services
  • health services in low-income neighborhoods
  • mental health services for youth
  • programs for the uninsured, underinsured, indigent and homeless
  • Disaster Management Assistance Team, deployed to world crisis spots, such as Haiti and Chile
