- Training clinician’s to teach mindfulness
- Being a Dharma teacher and a secular mindfulness teacher - and translating one into the other
Christiane started out her professional life as a (happy) OB/GYN at the University Hospital Charité in Berlin, Germany. A sabbatical year brought her, her husband and newborn daughter to Los Angeles in 2003. There, Christiane, a dedicated Vipassana student since her late teens, met Trudy Goodman, who was to become her heart teacher. Trudy encouraged her to start teaching and to also take the MBSR training.
Christiane received teacher transmission from Trudy in 2011. Together with many others, Trudy and Christiane build InsightLA, a Los Angeles based non-profit, into a thriving community with national standing, which is a home for Buddhist and secular mindfulness teachings alike. Christiane is part of the current Dharma and Retreat Teacher training under Jack Kornfield, Joseph Goldstein et al. She is also teaching silent retreats in the US and in Germany.
She continues to live in Los Angeles with her husband and their three children.
