Bio

Ruth has a long history of work with a consistent focus on how to support people in creating a meaningful life, with adequate internal and external resources. She discovered Saki Santorelli’s book, Heal Thyself, just before beginning her doctoral training program and it provided the foundation for how she approached her training as a psychologist and thinking about how we can hold so tenderly the relationship between self and other in clinical work… and as a teacher.

Ruth began practicing meditation within the context of a yoga practice in 1994, and has since become a dedicated practitioner of mind-body awareness and meditation. She teaches MBSR, MBCT, and other classes introducing mindfulness and meditation in Western Mass in her private practice, and incorporates these practices and ways of being into her work with individuals in psychotherapy. She has pursued trainings in a range of mind-body clinical protocols, including Somatic Experiencing, Emotionally-Focused Couples Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy.
