  • Educating our community about research and the rights and responsibilities of research participants;
  • Providing timely and high quality review and monitoring of human research studies.

Step 1

Let's get started by reviewing the following:

Step 2

Review & complete the educational requirements for human subjects research and, if applicable, follow the steps here if you have completed the CITI course at another institution.

Step 3

Submit a request for New User Access to the electronic submission system (eIRB)
if you are a UMass Worcester student or employee.

NOTE: DO NOT use the eIRB request form if you are a summer student or volunteer. Instead, ask your PI to use the Non-UMass Personnel list (HRP-215). See Forms and Templates for Instructions.

Step 4

Prepare your study documents including the required Investigator Study Plan (ISP).

Create & Submit your Research application using the Electronic Submission System (eIRB).

**Make sure your eIRB submission moves out of PRE-SUBMISSION state to PRE-REVIEW.
