Pathway to Independence (PI) Working Group

The UMass Center for Clinical and Translational Science and the UMMS Office of Research "R-Club" was established in October 2014. Program Leaders, Drs. Beth McCormick and Robert Goldberg are pleased to announce the Pathway to Independence (PI) Working Group, an auxiliary of the "R-Club".

In order to better help fellows and faculty with their grant applications to the NIH (or foundations or other major funding sources), we are reconfiguring the regular bi-weekly meetings of the PI group to be available for more concentrated personal consultations during the 4 weeks leading up to the regular NIH grant submission dates in October, February, and June.

While we are, of course, available for grant-related consultations at any time during the coming year, we have set aside 4 afternoons on a weekly basis before each of these grant deadlines to better accomodate and help grant applicants. These dates are listed below and we look forward to working with you during these meetings. It would very much help to send us your specific aims and research methods prior to each regularly scheduled meeting so that we will not only know who is coming to each session, but be able to look at what has been written to date and identify areas of concern.
