5th Annual Community Engagement and Research Symposium

Symposium 2016 Success Stories

Attending the Community Engagement and Research Symposium can lead to new partnerships.

The Regional Consortium Community formed a new partnership with researchers at the 5th Annual Community Engagement and Research Symposium on March 25, 2016.  Please see their success story below.

"We led a brainstorming session of Regional Consortium of Community and Engaged Researchers, with co-presenters from UMass Lowell Center for Gerontology Research and Partnerships (CGRP).  Small group work resulted in focused questions, and was shared at a session. Subsequently, all points compiled in distributed meeting minutes.  We disseminated notice through listserv of activities/events, including UMass Lowell's 10-5-16 event with Dr. Linda Gerdner, nationally renowned nurse researcher, ethnogeriatric specialist, and consultant with Stanford University's Geriatric Education Center."

Sponsored by the UMass CCTS Community Engagement and Research Section

Goal of the Symposium: To build our shared capacity to address health issues in communities throughout Massachusetts by creating opportunities for people to meet each other, learn more about each other’s work and interests, and make connections and plan for future collaborative work.

Audience: Community leaders, faculty and staff from all five UMass campuses and other organizations and institutions interested in partnered research.
