The Brewster lab is primarily interested in quantitative studies of transcription and its regulation.

Within this broad field, our primary aim is to dissect and understand the implications of resource sharing (for instance, transcription factors, polymerases, etc.) to cellular decision making. Our approach is one that emphasizes the interplay between quantitative theoretical models and modern systems biology experimental techniques.

The Brewster Lab is part of the Program in Systems Biology at the UMass Medical School, where (PSB) aims to explore the mechanisms and principles of biological complexity.
