How neuronal stress and brain trauma may contribute to ALS pathogenesis
Daryl A. Bosco, PhD, a professor of neurology, and principal investigator of Bosco Lab provided a discussion regarding the Bosco Lab's study of stress as an upstream trigger of neuron death in ALS. These studies are based on observations that neurons in ALS patients become overactivated because of the altered neuronal connections and metabolite imbalances within the central nervous system. Dr. Bosco will present recent research showing that ALS neurons are more susceptible to external stressors such as brain trauma.
October 20 – 23, 2023, Third International Research Conference on Neurodegenerative Diseases (IRCND)
The Third Annual International Research Conference on Neurodegenerative Diseases, co-chaired by Daryl A. Bosco, PhD, invited scientists around the world to share the newest research results and to exchange the most innovative ideas on neurodegenerative diseases by focusing on basic and translational science of ALS/FTD, PD, and AD. Keynote lectures, oral presentations, posters as well as professional development workshops are planned for the worldwide research community
