Dr. Zuoshang Xu awarded R21 grant from the National Institutes of Health

Z XuDr. Zuoshang Xu has been awarded a new R21 grant from the National Institutes of Health, specifically the Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke, to begin July 1st. This grant will allow Dr. Xu and colleagues to continue to explore ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease which is a neurodegenerative disease that causes paralysis and is fatal. At present, no treatment is available to stop the disease progression or cure the disease. This project is a collaboration between Dr. Xu and Dr. Ostroff’s labs at UMMS to develop a new vaccination treatment for this disease.
