Date Posted: Thursday, July 11, 2019

Sabriya SyedDr. Sabriya Syed has been awarded a Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award for Individual Postdoctoral Fellowship (F32) by the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases of the National Institutes of Health. Sabriya’s project is titled “The dynamic role of Prmt5 in chromatin organization during adipogenesis”. This study will provide critical insight into how protein arginine methyl transferase 5 (Prmt5) complexes with other factors to regulate the chromatin landscape, higher order chromatin structure and transcriptional activation during adipogenesis. This work will be conducted in the lab of Dr. Anthony Imbalzano which studies the role of epigenetic regulators and chromatin remodelers on tissue-specific gene expression during differentiation.
