Rhind Lab’s Mary Pickering to teach at College of the Holy Cross

Mary PickeringMary Pickering, a senior staff scientist in Nick Rhind's lab studying cell size regulation in S. pombe, has accepted a Visiting Assistant Professor position at the College of the Holy Cross for the upcoming academic school year. She will be teaching introductory courses in Cellular and Molecular Biology and an advanced topics course in Genetics.  

Mary earned her PhD at UMass Medical School working on cell cycle regulation and DNA damage signaling with Tim Kowalik, PhD. Prior to returning to UMass to work with Dr. Rhind, she taught for several years at local colleges. Although she is enjoying working at the bench and plans to continue her work with Dr. Rhind while at Holy Cross, she is excited to get back into the classroom.
