Dr. Padilla-Benavides received the 2017 SACNAS Outstanding Research and Professional Mentor Award
On October 20th, Dr. Padilla-Benavides received 2017 SACNAS Outstanding Research and Professional Mentor Award during The National Diversity in STEM Conference.
SACNAS - Society for Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans in Science- is an inclusive organization dedicated to fostering the success of Chicano/Hispanic and Native American scientists, from college students to professionals, in attaining advanced degrees, careers, and positions of leadership in STEM. And SACNAS honor the members of our community who have demonstrated dedication to science, education, and mentoring, through SACNAS Distinguished Awards. Dr. Padilla-Benavides received the SACNAS Outstanding Research and Professional Mentor Award which she was selected from among the top candidates who demonstrated record of encouraging underrepresented minority students/professionals to pursue advanced degrees in a science, technology, engineering, mathematics or a related field.
