4th Year Student Electives

We have specifically designed the following electives for the 4th year medical student who is interested in educational training opportunities with Family Practice Residents. These electives are four weeks in length and you can choose from either inpatient or outpatient-based experiences.

This allows you to choose from a spectrum of health care settings which are samples of the practices of the family practitioner and of our program. The focus of all our electives is to acquaint you with the practice of Family Medicine and give you first hand experience with our program.

Usually we can accommodate student requests; however, we advise that you secure a spot at least three months in advance of your desired rotation. To receive an application and more information regarding UMass electives, it will be necessary for you to contact:
