Massachusetts Human Stem Cell Bank and International Registry

The Massachusetts Human Stem Cell Bank and International Registry was established in 2007 at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. Developed with funding from the Massachusetts Life Sciences Center, the Bank and Registry is intended to serve as a resource for stem cell researchers throughout the world. This resource provides comprehensive information on pluripotent stem cells, high quality stem cell lines and state of the art training and educational resources.

International Stem Cell Registry

The Massachusetts Human Stem Cell Bank provides the biomedical research community with expertly maintained and characterized human ES (hES) and reprogrammed (iPS) cell lines to facilitate studies into the properties and potential therapeutic applications of pluripotent stem cells.

In addition, the Education and Training division provides technical training and programs to educate the community.

The International Stem Cell Registry (ISCR) is a freely accessible, continuously updated, searchable database for the stem cell research community. The most comprehensive database on human embryonic (hESC) and induced pluripotent (iPS) stem cell lines, the ISCR currently provides published and validated unpublished information for over 1,200 cell lines from over 20 countries. The ISCR also includes a literature database of over 1,600 citations that are searchable by cell line name and keywords in the abstract.
