Core Competencies

Under contract to the Massachusetts Department of Public Health the Center conducted a role delineation and validation study that resulted in the development of core competencies for Tobacco Treatment Specialists in 1998. These competencies were further refined when the Center collaborated with other members of the Association for the Treatment of Tobacco Use and Dependence (ATTUD) to develop and disseminate Standards of Practice for Tobacco Treatment Specialists.  ATTUD logo
