Elective Description: Our 4-week rotation in radiology is designed to expose the student to the great breadth and depth of radiology. In addition to a basic understanding of image interpretation, one of the goals of the rotation is to gain a working understanding of the appropriate imaging study choice for patients. Responsibilities include attendance at daily readouts and ten weekly educational departmental conferences. Introductory radiology lectures geared specifically for medical students are also provided twice weekly. The student will engage in a reading curriculum based on the provided introductory radiology text Learning Radiology: Recognizing the Basics, 2nd Edition, and its companion website, LearningRadiology.com .
