Elective Description: The student will learn about mental retardation and other developmental disabilities, and about the specialized evaluation and treatment of neuropsychiatric disorders in this population. Students will become familiar with psychopharmacological treatments, medical interventions, behavioral interventions and psychosocial and systems issues that are involved in the management of these disorders. The student will understand the interactions between concurrent medical, neurological and psychiatric disorders. |
