| Elective Description: To teach medical students the correct approach to simple and complex acid-base and electrolyte problems, acute renal failure, and hypertension. Students will also learn practical aspects of hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis (including CAPD, and CCPD) CVVH, and renal transplantation and will have in-depth ongoing sessions on glomerulonephritis. Students attend interhospital renal rounds and have daily didactic sessions to review common, as well as, unusual and complex problems in nephrology and hypertension. |
