Career Day - Part 1:
Evening presentation after interclerkship - Career Day Orientations will provide insight into the structure and function of fourth year. Some of the topics to be covered: Timeline and planning your fourth year, "Proposed Educational Plan" ("PEP"), The role of your advisor/ specialty mentor, graduation requirements, elective information, extension information and the residency application cycle.
Career Day - Part 2: (full day)
An introduction to the fourth year - Information on the 2 required courses subi and neurology - scheduling electives, fourth year lottery information, Careers in Medicine / Freida, other fourth year opportunities. The fourth year lottery opens and will be due approx 2 weeks later.
Career Day - Part 3: ("Soup to Nuts")
Evening presentation after interclerkship - practical information on the residency application process itself. How do ERAS (electronic residency application service) and NRMP (national residency match) work, tips on writing the personal statement, strategies and interviewing.
